Our laboratory invited Dr. Zhiliang Yuan, Chief Scientist of Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Science (BAQIS), as a visiting professor of Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University

On April 28, 2023, Dr. Zhiliang Yuan, Chief Scientist of Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Science (BAQIS), was appointed as a visiting professor of Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. The appointment ceremony was held at Room 5-206 of ROHM Building. More than 40 faculties and students of Department of Electronic Engineering attended the ceremony. Prof. Yu Wang, the director of the department, presented Dr. Yuan the letter of appointment as the visiting professor. After the ceremony, Dr. Yuan gave an academic talk entitled "Optical Fiber Quantum Communication: High Bitrate and Long Distance", detailing his academic contributions and latest research results in the field of quantum communication, which caused a heated discussion.

Dr. Zhiliang Yuan is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of quantum communication and quantum devices. He has made remarkable academic achievements in the development of new quantum key distribution protocols, high-speed quantum key distribution systems, and crucial devices for quantum communication. In April, 2021, he was introduced by BAQIS as a strategic science and technology talent and served as the chief scientist. Through the invitation of our Lab., Dr. Yuan was appointed as a visiting professor of Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. It will highly promote the academic researches of our department in the field of quantum technology.
