Prof. Fang Liu was invited to give an invited report at PIERS 2024

On April 21, 2024, Prof. Fang Liu was invited by the "Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS 2024)" to participate in the "Light Emission from Particle-matter Interactions" Session and give an invited report titled “Terahertz Cherenkov Radiation in Hyperbolic Metamaterials”. In the report, Prof. Fang Liu introduced the latest research results of on-chip terahertz Cherenkov radiation sources based on hyperbolic metamaterials composed of graphene and boron nitride, which aroused the attention and lively discussion of participating scholars.

Each focus Session in PhotonIcs and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (also known as Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium) should be focused on a specific hot topic that must be timely and reflect the future trends or the latest scientific advances in the area. PIERS 2024 was held on from April 21st to April 25th in Chengdu, China. The 'Light Emission from Particle-matter Interactions' Session of this PIERS conference gathered the top researchers in the field of free electron radiation all over the world, and top scholars such as Prof. F. Javier García de Abajo from ICFO of Spain and Prof. Baile Zhang from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore were invited to give reports in this session. At the conference, participating scholars discussed in depth various novel methods and future development directions for controlling the interaction between free electrons and matter to produce light, and displayed a series of the latest scientific research results.
