Prof. Kaiyu Cui’s achievement transformation won the Gold Award in the President's Innovation Challenge
On May 29, Prof. Kaiyu Cui's achievement transformation project team "Seetrum Technology" stood out from more than 80 participating teams and won the only gold medal in the 8th Tsinghua University President's Innovation Challenge, and the related achievement, CMOS spectral imaging chip, won the "Technology Innovation Award" of the competition. Tsinghua University President's Innovation Challenge, with the core orientation of "focusing on innovation that promotes social progress", is an annual selection activity for real innovation and entrepreneurship projects of the students, alumni and faculty of Tsinghua University.
The CMOS spectral imaging chip that won the gold award this time is the world's first mass-produced silicon-based micro spectral imaging chip, which has realized the leap from micro spectrometer to spectral imaging chip and can be used in consumer electronics, environmental monitoring, machine vision, medical diagnosis, satellite remote sensing and other fields. The characteristics of high precision and mass production make this chip a disruptive spectral analysis technology. The application of this new technology can realize the acquisition of real-time spectral big data in various fields, and provide the possibility for the construction of future "intelligent spectral cloud". Seetrum Technology, an achievement transformation company of related technologies, was founded in September 2020 and has received a financing of nearly 100 million yuan. Seetrum Technology is committed to becoming the global leader in spectral chips, enabling spectral sensing everywhere.
