Prof. Wei Zhang delivered an invited talk on the Eighth International Symposium on Novel Optoelectronic Detection Technology and Application

Prof. Wei Zhang attended the Eighth International Symposium on Novel Optoelectronic Detection Technology and Application and delivered an invited talk at Dec. 9th, 2021. The topic of his talk is “Applications of Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors on Experiments of Quantum Optics”. In the talk, Prof. Zhang introduced the low time jitter property of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) and its applications on the experiments of quantum optics. Especially, he introduced the important roles of SNSPDs in the experiments of fiber-based energy-time entanglement generation, true single photon stimulated four-wave mixing, dispersion optics quantum key distribution (DO-QKD) over optical fiber and large scale entanglement-based QKD networks.

The Eighth International Symposium on Novel Optoelectronic Detection Technology and Application was held at Kunming, Yunnan province, China at Dec. 8th-9th, 2021. The purpose of this symposium is communicating various novel optoelectronic detection technologies, including low-light-level night vision, polarization detection, quantum light detection, single photon detection, etc., promoting the research of optoelectronic detection technologies and development of related industries. The symposium was organized by Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE) and Science and Technology on Low-light-level Night Vision Laboratory, and hosted by Yunnan University, Xi’an Technological University and Photoelectronic Technology Committee, Chinese Society of Astronautics.
