The laboratory’s achievement “Metasurface Real-time Ultraspectral Imaging Chip” won the nomination award of “2022 Top Ten Advances in Optics in China”

On the evening of April 20, China Laser Press released the nomination award of "2022 Top Ten Advances in Optics in China". The laboratory's achievement "Metasurface Real-time Ultraspectral Imaging Chip" won the nomination award of "2022 Top Ten Advances in Optics in China" (Applied Research) : "Cui Kaiyu et al. from Tsinghua University successfully developed the world's first real-time ultraspectral imaging chip, which can obtain the ultraspectral information of 150,000 spatial pixels at one time. Using this chip, the dynamic changes of the characteristic spectra of hemoglobin and its derivatives in the brain of living rats were successfully obtained. Compared with the existing on-chip spectral detection technologies, this achievement has realized the leap from a single-point micro-spectrometer to a real-time ultraspectral imaging chip, which can create a new dimension of matter analysis for imaging technology. It has advantages of high precision, chip-based and mass production, and is expected to become a disruptive technology for the next generation of imaging chips. Relevant achievements have been applied, promoted and industrialized."

In addition, doctoral student Yang Jiawei's posting report "Deep-learning-based on-chip rapid spectral imaging with high spatial resolution" was awarded as excellent posting report: "The combination of deep unfolded network ADMM-net and freeform shaped metasurface spectral imaging chip is proposed to achieve on-chip rapid spectral imaging with high spatial resolution. The reconstruction of a single data cube takes only 18 milliseconds, and the reconstruction speed is about 5 orders of magnitude higher than the traditional point-by-point iterative spectral reconstruction algorithm. The mosaic phenomenon of spectral image is effectively eliminated.”
