Prof. Wei Zhang organized a technical session at PIERS 2024 entitled “Single photon detection: device and integration”
Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS 2024) was hold in Chendu, China, in Apr. 21-25, 2024. Professor Wei Zhang and Researcher Hao Li from SIMIT co-organized a technical session entitled “Single photon detection-device and integration”. This Session focused on the research of devices and applications of single-photon detection, and novel technologies about its integration on photonic chips. Many outstanding researchers attended and provided invited talks in this session, covering many frontier researches in this field. The Ph. D students Mr. Xiaosong Ren and Mr. Mingzhong Hu provided two oral talks entitled “Hybrid Integration of Near-infrared InGaAs/InP Single Photon Avalanche Diodes Array and Silicon Photonics Chip” and “A high-dimensional imaging system based on an SNSPD spectrometer and computational imaging”, respectively. These talks introduced our recent results on hybrid integration of near-infrared SAPDs on silicon photonic chips and multi-dimensional imaging based on photon counting reconstructive spectrometer, drawing widely attentions.
PhotonIcs and Electromagnetics Research Symposium(PIERS), also known as Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium, provides an international forum for reporting progress and recent advances in the scientific theories and experiments and the technologies of electromagnetics and photonics. PIERS is sponsored by The Electromagnetics Academy, and PIERS 2024 in Chengdu is the 45th PIERS.
