Prof. Kaiyu Cui published an invited “Lab to Fab” review paper in Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering
On February 14, 2025, Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering, an academic journal affiliated with Nature, published a paper entitled " On-chip spectral imaging and sensing transition towards marketable technologies" that is a “Lab to fab review article”, Prof. Kaiyu Cui was invited to write. Our laboratory developed the world's first hyperspectral imaging chip, and took the lead in the industrial development of spectral imaging technology and application in the world, and successfully realized the leap from laboratory results to commercial products. At present, it has been applied to important tracks such as mobile phones, machine vision, and medical treatment.
This paper analyzes the key factors that transform cutting-edge scientific research technology from laboratory results to commercial products from the principles and advantages of spectral imaging chip technology, achievement transformation team, upstream and downstream industry chain, business and market selection. The future development of spectral imaging chips is also prospected. "Sensory integration" is an important development trend, and spectral analysis can empower machine vision and edge computing terminal devices with important capabilities of Matter intelligent analysis, thus opening a new paradigm of matter Meta-Imaging neural network chips beyond the human eye.
