返回The Information Center of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park visits Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University to Inspect Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks
On the afternoon of June 4, 2026, a seven-member delegation led by Ms. Xie Tengxiang, Deputy Director of the Information Center of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and Administrative Commission of Zhongguancun Science Park (hereinafter referred to as the “Information Center”), visited the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University to conduct research on the Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks. The delegation was received by Ms. Liu Chang from the Tsinghua University Office of Scientific Research; Prof. Liu Yimin, Deputy Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering; Prof. Zhang Wei, Director of the Beijing Key Laboratory; Prof. Huang Yidong; and several other faculties of the laboratory.
The Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks (hereinafter referred to as the “Key Laboratory”) is supported by Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University and jointly established with four partner institutions. The laboratory aims to build a multi-party collaborative innovation platform covering the entire technical chain of quantum information networks.
During the event, Prof. Zhang Wei, Director of the Key Laboratory, led the Information Center delegation on a tour of the laboratory’s research spaces, including the Nano-Optoelectronics Laboratory, the Micro/Nano-Optoelectronic Test Center of the Department of Electronic Engineering, and the user node of the Quantum Network Testbed. He also provided detailed introduction on the laboratory’s current infrastructure and future work plans. Deputy Director Xie Tengxiang spoke highly of the laboratory’s preparatory efforts, elaborated on Beijing’s research landscape and recent priorities in the field of quantum science and technology, and offered valuable comments and suggestions for the laboratory’s development. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as Beijing’s positioning in quantum technology development, the direction of quantum chips and quantum networks, and the translation of research outcomes into practical applications. In conclusion, both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthen collaborative efforts in innovation-driven development, promote deep cooperation among government, industry, academia, and research sectors, and support the construction of Beijing as an international center for science and technology innovation as well as a strategic highland for quantum science and technology.
