Prof. Jin Liu visited the Nano-OptoElectronics Lab. and provided an academic talk of “Semiconductor non-classic light sources based on epitaxial quantum dots in photonic nanostructures”. Prof. Jin Liu is from School of Physics, Sun Yat-Sen University, China. He is the national oversea senior talents of China (2016) and distinguished professor of major national talent project (2020). His research focuses on nano-photonics and integrated optics. He is the director of Guangzhou key laboratory of integrated photonic devices and is the PI of key projects of key R&D program of China, NSFC and Guangdong Province. In this talk, Prof. Jin Liu focused on deterministic single photon sources based on quantum dots, including the nanoscale location of QDs based on photoluminescence imaging, the physical mechanism and fabrication techniques of the coupling between quantum dots and various micro-resonators, the realization of high performance deterministic single photon sources, and the applications of this system on entangled photon pair sources, hybrid quantum photonic circuits and single photon frequency convertors. Extensive and in-depth communications were taken after the talk.
