On July 24, the "Fifth World Photonics Conference 2024" opened at the National Convention Center, Beijing. Prof. Yidong Huang was invited to give a keynote speech entitled "Nanostructures Open Up New Approaches for on-chip Perceptual Technology" at the opening ceremony, presenting the research achievements of on-chip spectral imaging and phonon sensing in our laboratory. At the same time, doctoral student Jiayi Ouyang made a report on "Photonic Solver for Optimization Problem" at Session 13-AI with/for Optics and Photonics.

The conference was co-sponsored by the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering (CSOE), the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE) and other units, which included the 13th International Applied Optics and Photonics Technology Exchange Conference (AOPC 2024) and the 15th Optoelectronics Industry Expo (referred to as: Beijing Optical Fair). Representatives of many research institutions and well-known enterprises gathered together to discuss cutting-edge technologies and show the latest progress and application prospects of photon technology, covering 19 sub-topics in multiple fields such as laser technology and application, infrared technology and application, photoelectric detection and imaging technology and application, spectral technology and application, terahertz technology and application. More than 900 upstream and downstream enterprises in the optoelectronics industry participated in the exhibition, more than 1,100 visitors came to visit, and 150,000 viewers watched through online live broadcast.
