Prof. Yidong Huang Leads Delegation at AI-Powered Manufacturing Innovation Conference and Delivers Keynote Speech
On May 29, 2025, Prof. Yidong Huang led a delegation from Nano-Optoelectronics Lab to participate in the landmark "AI-Powered Manufacturing Innovation Conference," held at the Suzhou Qingshan Conference Center. The conference was jointly hosted by the Chinese Academy of Artificial Intelligence Strategy, Suzhou High-Tech Zone Administrative Committee, and the Yangtze River Delta Intelligent Industry 100 Forum. Positioned at the strategic intersection of "technology breakthroughs, industrial collaboration, and regional demonstration," the conference aimed to establish itself as China's annual benchmark for intelligent manufacturing trends. Prof. Huang delivered a keynote speech titled “Lab to Fab: How Micro/Nano-Structured Optoelectronic Devices Empower Intelligent Sensing?” This presentation explored the critical pathway for translating photonics research into industrial applications.
A major conference highlight was the “Photonic Chip Innovation Technologies & Industry” sub-forum, expertly chaired by Prof. Huang. This session convened leading enterprises across the photonics value chain, fostering discussions on full-chain innovation from materials to systems. Organized by Prof. Xue Feng, Hao Sun, and Yongzhuo Li, the sub-forum followed a comprehensive "Materials → Chips → Applications → Equipment → Testing" framework. It featured powerful industry insights from: Mr. Kai Cheng, Chairman, Suzhou Enkris Semiconductor, Inc., Mr. Yao Xiao, R&D Director, Suzhou Everbright Photonics Co., Ltd., Mr. Jian Wang, General Manager, Toptrans (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., Mr. Yu Wang, CEO, Beijing Seetrum Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Tianchang Li, CTO, Beijing Optical Function Technology Co., Ltd., and Mr. Binjie Song, CTO, Cencorp (Zhuhai) Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. Prof. Hao Sun further showcased the advanced capabilities of Tsinghua University's Electronic Information Comprehensive Testing Platform.
The sub-forum culminated in a dynamic roundtable discussion where industry leaders delved into the frontier topic of “Convergence of Photonics and Artificial Intelligence.” Participants shared forward-looking perspectives and constructive solutions for driving the AI+Photonics field from core technology breakthroughs towards transformative paradigm shifts. The session sparked enthusiastic audience engagement, with active Q&A underscoring its significance as a platform for cross-industry dialogue and collaborative advancement.
