On the morning of June 30, 2023, the first-phase project briefing meeting of the Tsinghua University-Zhuhai Huafa Industrial Share Company Joint Institute for Architecture Optoelectronic Technologies (hereinafter referred to as the "Joint Research Institute") was successfully held. Mr. Guangning Li, General Manager of Huafa Group; Ms. Jin Guo, Deputy General Manager of Huafa Group; Prof. Yu Wang, Chairman of Department of Electronics, Tsinghua University, Prof. Yidong Huang, Deputy Director of Academic Committee of Tsinghua University and Director of Joint Research Institute, Mr. Xudong Yang, Deputy Dean of School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, and the leaders of the designated and open projects attended the meeting in the Rohm Hall, Tsinghua University. The project contact person from Huafa Group attended the meeting online. In the welcome speech, Prof. Yu Wang positively evaluated the important role of the Joint Research Institute in the development of optoelectronics in the Department of Electronics of Tsinghua University, hoping to use the platform of the joint Research Institute to actively explore the new mechanism of technological innovation and application, optoelectronics and architecture interdisciplinary innovation research and talent training, and lead the frontier of advanced optoelectronics technology and the direction of technological innovation.

Prof. Yidong Huang reported the overall situation of the joint Research Institute. The project leaders reported the research progress and future work plan of the oriented project and the open project. The project associates of Huafa gave feedback on the research progress of the above projects. 

Prof. Xudong Yang expressed that building optoelectronics is a leading research direction in the future. Thanks to Huafa for providing the scene and support, he hopes that the joint research institute can do the work of global leadership, strengthen exchanges and research and development forces, and apply the results to the engineering of Huafa Group enterprises to achieve a win-win situation. 

Mr. Guangning Li, general manager of Huafa Group, affirmed the progress made by the Joint research Institute, saying that the research content of the project fully reflects the original intention of the establishment of the joint research Institute, combining the needs of enterprises with the strengths of Tsinghua University. It is hoped that the Joint Research Institute will continue to strengthen the comprehensive and in-depth cooperation between Huafa and Tsinghua University, empower business products, reserve future technologies, support the development of Huafa's various industries, and enhance the core competitiveness of Huafa. At the same time, Huafa provides application scenarios and application conditions, applies scientific research technology to practice, improves scientific research ability in practice, and better serves the scientific research and student cultivation of Tsinghua University.
