Professor Wei Zhang organized the forum "Quantum Photonic Chips: Technology and Applications" at the 27th Youth Annual Conference of Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE)

To promote communications among young scientists and technologists, stimulate innovative thinking, and build cross-disciplinary collaborations, the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) held the 27th Youth Annual Conference at October 24-26, 2025 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Professor Wei Zhang organized a forum titled "Quantum photonic Chips: Technology and Applications" at this conference.

Quantum information technology provides new principles and methods for the development of the information society, making it a strategic field attracting worldwide pursuing. Utilizing photons to carry quantum information offers clear principles and ease of implementation, serving as a critical way for the practical applications of quantum information technologies. Quantum photonic chip technology enables the stable integration of numerous photonic devices while providing controls to achieve large-scale quantum information systems. As quantum photonic systems advance toward scalability and practical implementation, new demands for quantum photonic chips continue to emerge. On the other hand, the development of quantum photonic chip technology relies on the foundation of the photonic chip industry. How to achieve mutual reinforcement between scientific research and industrial applications remains a critical issue for the long-term development of this field.

The "Quantum Photonic Chips: Technology and Applications" forum invited several senior experts with extensive experience in both academic research and industrial development of quantum photonic chips. They presented the development of quantum photonic chip technology, explored new technical demands arising from emerging applications, and engaged in in-depth discussions on the industrial direction and prospects of this field.
