The second steering committee meeting of Tsinghua University-Zhuhai Huafa Industrial Share Company Joint Institute for Architecture Optoelectronic Technologies (JIAOT) was held successfully at Dec.13, 2023. The JIAOT is a joint research institute of Tsinghua University, sponsored by Zhuhai Huafa Industrial Share Company (CNY 100 million /5 years), and directed by the nano-optoelectronics laboratory, Electronic Engineering Department, Tsinghua University. The meeting was held in a hybrid live/online manner. The Participants of this meeting include the committee members (or his/her representative), the members of the dean’s office, and the related researchers of JIAOT.

At the meeting, Professor Yidong Huang, the Director of JIAOT and Professor Wei Zhang introduced the operation and the finances of JIAOT in the first year. The committee members took in-depth comments and discussions on these contents, and fully approved the work of JIAOT in the past year. In the summary of the meeting, Ms. Jin Guo, Director of the Board of Directors of Huafa, commented that the progress of JIAOT has met expectations, and expressed the expectation of deepening cooperation with Tsinghua University to help the industrial transformation of Huafa Group. Professor Xiangli Meng, Vice Director of Research Department, Tsinghua University, expressed his hopes that JIAOT, as an interdisciplinary platform of Tsinghua University, will help Huafa Group in the three major sectors of technology, city, and finance, and make innovative works. Professor Yan Wang, Director of Tsinghua Technology Transfer Department, wished that Tsinghua would further broaden the scope of cooperation with Huafa Group, and promote the industrialization of scientific achievements of Tsinghua University.
