Prof. Kaiyu Cui led the team to participate in the Third Applied Physics Conference

From April 17 to 19, 2026, Prof. Kaiyu Cui, along with postdoctoral researcher Ning Wu and Ph.D. students Tianhao Liu and Zhiyang Hang from the laboratory, attended the 3rd Conference on Applied Physics held at Yingze Hotel in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China. The conference was organized by Shanxi University and the Applied Physics Center of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It brought together leading experts and outstanding young scholars in the field of applied physics. The conference covered a wide range of frontier topics, including applied magnetism, optical physics and applications, quantum sensing and detection, and semiconductor physics and devices.

Prof. Kaiyu Cui was invited to serve as the session chair for the “Optical Imaging II” session under the “Optical Physics and Applications” track. Dr. Ning Wu delivered an invited talk entitled “Fundamental Sensitivity Bounds at Arbitrary-Order Exceptional Points,” presenting the team’s recent research progress in non-Hermitian exceptional point systems. Ph.D. students Tianhao Liu and Zhiyang Hang participated in both oral and poster presentations, engaging in in-depth academic discussions with experts and peers, and sharing their latest research on metasurface-enabled spectral sensing and computing integration. Tianhao Liu’s poster was awarded the Excellent Poster Award.

During the conference, members of the laboratory held extensive discussions with research teams from universities and institutes across China, exchanged the latest scientific developments, and further promoted academic collaboration and cooperation.
