返回The report meeting on the preliminary research stage of the Integrated Quantum Network Testbed Project and the launch meeting of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks were successfully held.
The Integrated Quantum Network Testbed Project is jointly built by the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences and Tsinghua University. Its aim is to construct a multi-scale, representative experimental quantum network that integrates sensing, transmission, and computing across space, air, and ground, combining long-distance fiber, short-distance regional/local-area networks, and satellite/free-space optical quantum channels, and to study methods and network architectures for the high-quality networked distribution of quantum resources. Based on the high-quality distribution and sharing of quantum resources in quantum networks, the project studies networked realization and management methods for multiple quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum sensing functions in quantum networks, and develops related key devices and equipment for quantum networks. After two years of implementation, the project has completed the scientific research tasks of the preliminary research stage and achieved multiple research results. Based on this project, five universities and institutions, including Tsinghua University and the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences, jointly applied in April 2026 for the Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks, which was approved.
On October 12, 2026, the report meeting on the preliminary research stage of the Integrated Quantum Network Testbed Project and the launch meeting of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks were successfully held in the Rohm Building at Tsinghua University. At the meeting, Professor Zhang Wei, Director of the project, reported on the progress of research on core quantum network technologies during the preliminary research stage and gave an on-site demonstration of the operation of the quantum entanglement distribution network deployed on the testbed's core fiber network and the function of dynamic reconfiguration of the network topology. The project team also introduced the innovative achievements made during the preliminary research stage in quantum secure communication, quantum sensing, superconducting quantum computer network interface devices, and key technologies and equipment for space-air quantum channels. The attending leaders and experts carefully listened to the report and visited the testbed network node located in the Rohm Building at Tsinghua University. In the expert comment session, the experts positively evaluated the progress of the Integrated Quantum Network Testbed Project integrating sensing, transmission, and computing, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for the project's development in the next stage. An unveiling ceremony for the Beijing Key Laboratory of Quantum Chips and Information Networks was also held at the meeting, marking the official launch of the key laboratory.
