Snapshot spectroscopic camera is used for astronomical observations

Recently, our spectroscopic team went to the National Astronomical Observatories in Xinglong, Hebei, and applied the developed snapshot spectroscopic camera to astronomical observation, and successfully obtained spectral imaging images and data of some stars.In astronomical observation, a large amount of information.

In astronomy is expressed in the form of spectrum. The study of the universe and galaxies - the birth of the universe, the formation of galaxies and so on - is based on spectral analysis. Spectroscopy can analyze the composition and content of elements, as well as physical conditions such as density and temperature, as well as motion speed and trajectory. Therefore, spectral information is of great significance in the field of astronomy, and astronomers also put forward the idea of spectral survey. Astronomical telescope, however, want to get an astronomical image and spectral information is very difficult, in accordance with the traditional methods include optical fiber and grating and derivation of image sensor gain spectrum or used as cutter for the way of the spectrum, can only get a few points in the astronomical image spectrum, unable to fully achieve high spatial resolution of spectra for astronomical images. At the same time, the spectral measurement equipment used in astronomy is expensive, and only a few telescopes around the world have achieved the acquisition of astronomical spectra. The snapshot type spectral camera developed in the laboratory can obtain astronomical and spectral images completely at one time on the basis of reducing the volume and cost.
