On April 15, 2022, Prof. Yidong Huang visited The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center ("the Center") and had in-depth exchanges on the joint construction of innovation platform in micro-nano optoelectronics and the collaborative development of science and innovation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Duoxiang Wang, director of the Center, attended and presided over the discussion.

Prof. Huang highly affirmed the system and mechanism construction of the Center and the achievements achieved. She expressed that the Center and the Department of Electronic Engineering(EE Dept.), Tsinghua Univ., have a solid foundation for cooperation and broad prospects for joint development, especially in the process of jointly exploring the frontiers of micro-nano optoelectronics and promoting the implementation of scientific and technological achievements, and further explore and build a cooperation mode of in-depth integration of industry, university and research. Hansheng Wang, executive Vice President of Institute for Electronic Information Technology in Tianjin, Tsinghua Univ., Qu Di, general manager of H-Chip Technology Group Co., LTD., and Shuai Yu, assistant general manager of H-Chip Technology Group Co., LTD., discussed the specific project introduction, joint laboratory construction, talent training, science and technology platform construction in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, etc.

Director Wang extended a warm welcome to Prof. Huang and his delegation. He pointed out that as a national strategic scientific and technological force, the Center shoulders the missions and tasks of original innovation, serving major national strategies and addressing major national needs.  At the current stage, the Center should give full play to its role in accelerating the construction of a Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei science and Technology collaborative innovation community driven by science, strategic guidance and demand. He introduced in detail the functional significance and differences of the Center's frontier laboratory, technology laboratory and engineering laboratory, and explained the cooperation mode of the Center's innovation platform construction in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.  He hopes that the Center will cooperate with the EE Dept., at a deeper level, give full play to their respective resource advantages, jointly explore the construction of a national technological innovation center in the field, implement the deployment of major strategic tasks for national scientific and technological innovation, strengthen key core technologies, and enhance the innovation capacity and core competitiveness of key industries in China.

Before the discussion, Prof. Huang visited the exhibition hall of scientific and technological achievements, and listened to the progress and representative achievements of the Center in system and mechanism exploration, global collaborative innovation, original technology research and development, emerging industry cultivation, innovative talent cultivation and other aspects.
