The laboratory organized a meeting for mentors, 2025 undergraduate freshmen, and undergraduates of tailored program

On the afternoon of November 13, 2025, the Nano-optoelectronics Laboratory organized a meeting for mentors, 2025 undergraduate freshmen, and undergraduates of tailored program. A total of 25 students from the Department of Electronic Engineering participated in this meeting. Professor Yidong Huang delivered a presentation titled "Optoelectronic Chips—A New Path for Future Chips and an Important Way for Information Perception." The talk primarily focused on explaining what optoelectronic chips are and highlighting the laboratory’s significant accomplishments in the cutting-edge research and industrial transformation. Following the presentation, the students were given a guided tour to the laboratory by their mentors.

Introduction of the “Freshman Mentor” Program

To aid freshmen majoring in Electronic Information in planning their university life and future careers, guiding them to establish proper values, and facilitating their concentrated learning and interest cultivation, a "Freshman Mentor" program has been established. This program aims to ensure that students can achieve substantial progress and growth within their limited time at college.

 Introduction of the Tailored Program

Since 2021, the Department of Electronic Engineering has launched tailored program in three directions: optoelectronics, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence and systems. This program matches students with the department's strengths in terms of faculty teams, research funding, and practical training, providing ample opportunities for practical training and scientific research guidance.
